Description

Crape Myrtle Pod is a wall print by OpusStuf showing a macro photograph of a seed pod. The print is available on canvas, metal or paper in a variety of sizes. Varieties of crape myrtle plants range from shrubs to medium size trees that bloom in several different colors. It is a hardy, blooming, sun loving member of almost any garden or landscape. As a late bloomer, it typically starts in June, and then continues through fall of each year. Varieties range from smaller shrubs to medium size trees. It originated in China and was imported into the USA southern states in the late 1700’s.
The seed pod shown in this photograph was only a little over 1/4 inch in diameter. It was photographed with a prime macro lens at close to maximum magnification with 18 images stitched together with focus stacking. The resulting image was then processed with Topaz Labs software for enlargement and sharp detail. The result is detail that is simply not visible with the naked eye.
