Macho Chapel is located a few miles north of Pecos, New Mexico. The original church was a small structure built in the 1830’s. The building was updated to the current structure in 1858 by Spanish-American colonists. It has also been called the Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Mission church or San Antonio-El Macho. Description
Macho Chapel is located a few miles north of Pecos, New Mexico. The original church was a small structure built in the 1830’s. The building was updated to the current structure in 1858 by Spanish-American colonists. It has also been called the Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Mission church or San Antonio-El Macho. During a restoration project in the 1950’s, 35 bodies buried in wooden coffins were discovered underneath the floor. The coffins were moved and reburied in a common grave.
The sketchy art style of this image is a combination of accent line art with soft brush color fills. The image is set on a simulated woven background texture.
