Rugoso Wall Art Print

Description

Wall art print in various sizes and media. Rugoso is Spanish for wrinkled or rough. Can a wrinkled jalapeno add flavor to a wall? Probably, in a kitchen or dining nook. A dried up chile pepper like this is normally ground up into a powder to make a seasoning. This particular specimen asked if he could become an ornament instead of a seasoning. He is only 3 inches long, including the stem, and would not provide much chile powder anyway, so we made him into a model decoration. It’s interesting to hear what people say or the vocals they utter when they first see Rugoso. Utterances like “Ohhh, eeeh, oooo, uh, yieee” are typical. Sometimes it’s just “I love it” or “yuck.” …whatever.
The photograph was made with a four layer focus stack with the pepper suspended on a wire. Then the image was flattened and silhouetted, and a background inserted behind the pepper. Then a legacy Topaz Labs filter was applied and an outer glow, drop shadow and vignette applied. The pepper was thrilled with the final image. Rugoso is a good candidate for a canvas print.
