Les Formes-1 is a wall print by OpusStuf showing a stylized photograph of a cottonwood tree in the north valley Open Space in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The print is available on canvas, metal or paper in a variety of sizes and frame colors. Due to the saturated complementary colors, this is an excellent choice for a metal print. It will work well in rooms with lots of windows and lighting since there are only small dark or black areas in the image that would show reflections. Description
Les Formes-1 is a wall art print by OpusStuf showing a stylized photograph of a cottonwood tree in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Open Space. The photograph was made in September when the leaves were turning to fall colors. A special effect was added to enhance color and contrast, and convert small shapes in the image into contiguous curves. At a distance, the image looks like a photograph. As you move in closer the illustrative special effect starts to appear.
Cottonwoods are fast growing, water loving trees that thrive in “delta like” areas alongside rivers and ponds where the soil is moist year round. They grow into a wide variety of shapes to adapt to the surroundings and obstructions next to them. The special effect is enhanced enough to make the image more “illustration” than photograph. There are four different images in the Les Formes series to work well in groupings.
